OOF! is a women-owned small business, founded by a mother and daughter team with a mission to celebrate natural beauty and self-expression.
We started with t-shirt hair towels, but our journey is fueled by a passion for creating products that embrace authenticity, spread positive vibes, and nurture a community where everyone can feel beautiful just as they are.

Our Story
Meet Ella and Annaleise
We are Zebras. This is the name adopted by people with rare diseases. We struggle with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. EDS is a genetic connective tissue disorder that has had a huge impact on our lives including autonomic nervous system issues and widespread pain. Extreme fatigue, anxiety, heart palpitations, fainting, digestive issues, joint dislocations...living with EDS in not easy.
So what does all this have to do with beauty? Well, we try to keep our beauty routines simple but effective. Looking your best helps you to feel good. This led us to our mission to launch a brand that celebrates natural beauty, self-expression, and feeling confident in the body you were born with no matter how you feel on the inside.
Not only did we want to start a business, we wanted to make a difference in our community and world. We hope that OOF! can become a voice for authentic beauty, self-expression, and feeling confident even when life is hard.

We also want to share our story to raise awareness for Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. We want to bring awareness to this issue so that more people can get a proper diagnosis and help with the other EDS issue of lack of funding. We proudly donate $1 from every OOF! hair towel we sell to support the Ehlers-Danlos Society.

The Journey to OOF!
Inspiration struck when 100% cotton jersey knit t-shirts proved to be a secret weapon for healthy hair. Less breakage, fewer tangles and frizz...amazing!
However, they were awkward to use and never quite big enough, and the hair towels we found online were produced with synthetic microfiber and had buttons or elastic bands that were frustrating for scrunching and the plopping method. This lead us to create a solution that combines the benefits of 100% cotton t-shirts with functionality. The OOF! Towel.
